PE Generators provided generators & associated equipment for the Rockness Music Festival held in Scotland at Clune Farm.
The annual music festival takes place on the picturesque banks of Loch
Ness near Inverness, and once again proved its popularity as the ‘early
bird’ tickets were sold out on the same morning that they went on sale.
The festival is known as “the most beautiful festival in the world” and “the
only festival with its own monster” due to its beautiful location.
The first Rockness festival took place on 24 June 2006 and has grown in
size every year since, with 2011 continuing the trend- at one point selling
ten times as many tickets as last year. Some of the musicians performing
at the Rockness festival included The Chemical Brothers, Kasabian, Katy
B, Stripes, Example, Paolo Nutini and Glasvegas.
This was the first time PE Generators have provided generators to such a
popular concert but the team knew it was within their capabilities.
Various sets of generators were supplied for the event and also there were
55 sets of tower lights supplied for access roads and the campsite. The
total power supplied came to 4MW. At first, the weather proved to be a bit
of an obstacle as the rain prevented vans from accessing areas around
the site. It was also dangerous driving conditions due to the slippery
ground, however these problems were soon overcome and the entire
project ran accordingly.
Honoured to be part of the festival, PE Generators ensured high standards
were maintained so that the scenery was left undisturbed and enabled the
concert to run smoothly due to the uninterrupted supply of power.
Between the months of May and June, 51 of our generators were utilised
at the event and varied in size. Some of these sets supplied power to the
main stage and also to Stage 2. 55 Tower lights were also needed for
access roads and the campsite.
